Manager

The Project Manager shall be in charge of leading engineering works & team from project start to finish which encompasses tender preparation, submission, clarification, system design, budgeting, project management, staff development, client management and worker management with a strong leadership and organizational skills.

The scope shall encompass the following:

Job description:

  • Lead and oversee full spectrum of M&E Project Design & Management activities for the project.
  • Lead and manage the team and appraise their performance and ensure project are completed according to project schedule. 
  • Provide technical expertise and strong mentorship to the team, including employee development.
  • Develop and maintain M&E SOP and provide recommendations for improvements on work processes.
  • Responsible in managing all M&E engineering works for the projects from concept stage, design development, contract documentation, authority submissions, site administration, and project management to project completion.
  • Manage Subcon including subcon assessment and manpower planning for the project.
  • Prepare scope of work, sub contracts, and customer proposals including Tender preparation, submission and Tender Clarification follow up for M&E works.
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets for M&E works including system design and equipment selection to ensure it meets the tender specification.
  • Lead M&E engineering process to control cost and client budget requirements of project.
  • Develop M&E works’ project schedule and monitor/update as project progresses, and forecasting engineering activities and procurement of materials required for project to ensure timely completion of project.
  • Develop and Implement work procedures & templates, and propose improvements to enhance accuracy of engineering design and improve the efficiency of engineering design, project execution and project completion.
  • Preparing and providing technical interpretation of design documents in support of installation such as checking of drawings, preparation of data sheets for client approval, project BOM, SOW for subcontractor.
  • Design and detailed design including equipment selection and work with drafting team on the development of construction and shop drawings in compliance with client’s requirements.
  • Review method statement for construction activities and Safe Work Procedure for operational plant & Construction site.
  • Provide specific expertise for problem solving of M&E issues.
  • Provide technical evaluation of subcontractor and equipment proposals.
  • Monitor and inspect construction by conducting regular site checks to ensure compliance with design documents.
  • Perform Testing & Commissioning works.
  • Coordination and liaise with Architects/ Consultants / Main Contractors / Vendors / Sub-Contractors / Clients and Authorities for design and with other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of project including monitoring Workers’ and Subcontractor’s’ work progress.
  • Ensure timely submission of monthly progress claim.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering or other equivalent certificates.
  • Minimum 10 years’ field experience in Construction industry managing CSA and MEP projects, and some experience working in subcontracting firm.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in construction project management.
  • Knowledge in M&E, Ducting, Process Piping, and other M&E related systems.
  • Excellent understanding of commercial M&E, HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Good working knowledge in construction contract / commercial term and condition.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills and experienced in managing and developing staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (including technical writing and presentations) with ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical and senior management staff.
  • High reliability and integrity in handling confidential information.
